RED LIGHT CAMERAS ARE SMART MOVE FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA

RED LIGHT CAMERAS ARE SMART MOVE FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA

Published On December 28, 2013

It is getting harder for drivers to get away with running red lights in Central Florida with the approval of red light cameras in Orlando’s neighboring city, Clermont – a move Todd Miner said will save lives. “As a car and motorcycle accident lawyer in Orlando, I have been representing families who have sustained injuries and damages from automobiles, motorcycles and truck accidents since 1993,” Miner said. “A lot of these accidents involved running red lights.”

“Red light cameras may actually curtail bad driving behavior,” he said.

The decision to install red light cameras by the Clermont City Council Wednesday (Feb 13) adds Clermont to a growing list of about 70 Florida communities that use cameras to increase safety. Orlando was one of the first cities to install them, along with Apopka and DeLand. Attorney Todd Miner agrees that the cameras can only make Clermont, Lake County’s largest city, that much safer.

When Oconee installed five red light cameras in 2010, 12,000 red light runners were caught and ticketed. Violations fell to 8,300 in 2011, Oconee police officials said.

Still, Todd Miner is busy representing people injured by those who violate traffic rules no matter the consequence. There will always be drivers who just choose to ignore traffic signals. This may be due to carelessness or just plain recklessness, so it’s a good idea to have a knowledgeable attorney at your side.

Todd Miner has the civil law experience needed to correct the wrongs done by red light runners. He has successfully fought to win compensation and damages for dozens of injured individuals and families who found themselves on the wrong end of an automobile accident.
